FAQs

Membership is by invitation to an audition and payment of a monthly subscription.
Contact us with your experience and location to be considered for openings.
Membership requires the ability and personal independence to travel to and attend concert weekends and foreign tours.
Successful applicants are those who are flexible and fit in socially with the other choir members - no room for prima donnas!
-
We get together on four weekends per year; the February weekend is usually to rehearse new repertoire and plan future weekend concerts.
The remaining three weekends (usually in April, June and October) culminate in a concert at a different UK venue.
This requires competency in sight reading, a voice that blends well, and a commitment to personal practice - there is little time for note bashing at rehearsals!
-
We perform a very diverse repertoire, usually a capella, from early choral works to contemporary pieces, including motets, madrigals, part songs, spirituals, Baroque and Romantic eras, and modern close harmony.
-
We organise a foreign tour every two years, performing at venues across Europe and beyond.
Details are shared in advance and attendance on tour is expected of all choir members.
